Meet Glyn Davies, our new Platform Engineer!

We’re excited to introduce Glyn Davies, our new Platform Engineer!

Glyn started his career as a trainee Avionics Engineer in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. After his initial stint in avionics, he spent four years as a sheet metal manufacturing company foreman in the UK. However, visiting his family in New Zealand reignited his love for the country, leading him to return and pursue further education. He enrolled in an Electronics and Computer Technology diploma at his local technical institute, which was a turning point in his career. During this time, Glyn discovered his passion for computers and software, setting the stage for his future endeavors. He then spent a decade as a technical software test analyst before transitioning into a systems administrator role. Over the years, his focus shifted towards simplifying and automating everyday tasks, freeing time for more productive efforts. This path led him to specialize in automating systems management through infrastructure as code and other DevOps practices.

Glyn prides himself on breaking complex, time-consuming activities down into logical, reusable modules for automation, significantly enhancing efficiency. For Glyn, a good workday is characterized by a sense of progress, no matter how small. Despite the inevitable ups and downs, he finds happiness in moving forward and overcoming challenges.

Glyn is eagerly looking forward to collaborating with the talented team at amazee.io. He recognizes the wealth of knowledge within our team and is excited about the opportunity to grow his capabilities while contributing to our shared successes.

When he's not immersed in the tech world, Glyn enjoys relaxing with his family and their dog, cooking, photography, and long walks. He is also embarking on an extensive landscaping and gardening project, reflecting his love for hands-on, creative projects.
